first seeds in forever

I ordered some GSC seeds from the place with an attitude...
I have not done a seed . I normally cut from a cut to keep my self going..
So the big question i have is do I start seed in paper towel after a short soak ?
Then before too much tail can i move it to a RW cube similar to my cuttings?
Seems rather sensible of a plan thats why i better ask....

No paper towel or pre-soak for me. Although many growers do.

I either just drop them in the soil or Rapid Rooters, or Rockwool.

I do not soak or use papertowels, either. That should only be needed with older seeds that may have lost too much moisture. I, like Rosebud, like the Mandala seed germination guide. And just to make it really easy, here is the link: hXXp://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide

Time for surgery, if I give you my technique you might end up with a " should I keep it plant ", unless you want one.

I do help them take off their hats if needed. Very carefully. you don't have to do it immediately, some will come off on their own, others may need help. Some say to wet it to soften up the shell, but i don't. It comes off easily. (usually) If it fights you wait another day.

I had put the energy out there that i wanted and needed some new strains and it all came together..local cuts were found and seeds did come in the mail just not from the company i ordered from...so all in all i got the energy back i sent out and maybe even more...
Good luck with the delivery...
Hope you get all you wanted!

Go to Mandala's Germination Guide and the Germination Troubleshooting Guide--they have some tips for shell casings that don't come off.

Did you order directly from Mandala or did you order Mandala seeds from a distributor like Attitude? Did you get tracking info?

ok I am such an impatient guy...seeds poppped of just like they are supposed to...One seed germed i can see the tail but the head went down...think it might be the only one not to pop....
all germed and 8 look like killer little babies...
Now questions...the stretchy larry crosses would normally be buried little deeper in next cup to help that little tiny stem right??
So in RW?? what the move ?? toothpick crutch??
Or do i pot em in tiny RW cubes so i can rebury that little stem like i would in soil??
Man seeds sure are more exciting than cuts...feels so new and raw...love it!!

You could try this. Cut a piece of rockwool the height of the stem you want to cover, then cut a split from center of the piece you cut to the edge. then just pull it apart a bit to get it around the stem. What do you think, will that work?

I am going to change it up a tad...will put in solo cups with small cubes..then re pot in same when ready to finish....need to jerry rig a new tray at a diff height to make it work but such is the game of life....
Last bean that went down came up also..9-9 on the germ and pop rate...super stoked on that...now for some girls .....( next seeds need to be WAY deeper in my little cubes towards bottom i would say)...
Stoked to get this far ...
