It's April 19th. A great NCAA basketball tournament just ended, pro baseball is just getting started, and the NBA playoffs are just beginning.

But here in Alabama, guess what the sports talk buzz has been lately (especially today)? College football. Yes, college football. On April 19th.

Alabama and Auburn (or as I should say, Auburn and Alabama) played their spring football games today. Meaningless spring football scrimmages take precedence over every aspect of life here in Alabama.

Go figure. I don't know what to think about it. I'm an Auburn graduate, so I'm into it as well. I guess we backwards people from the Deep South have nothing better than college football to give us self-esteem.

Then again, it's perfect. There's nothing like college football. Especially in the SEC West Division.
