OK, I'm doing my second SCROG - Larry OG from Cali Connection. Feminized seeds.

Seeds: Larry OG (feminized) from Cali Connection.

Grow Medium: Sunshine Mix #4. I added 2 tablespoons of dolomite lime per gallon, and a fair amount of coarse perlite.

Grow containers: 5-gallon Smart Pots.

Nutrients: Dyna-Gro 2-part (Grow, Pro-Tect) mixed exactly as the bottles say. I use only tap water, and I don't ever balance PH. All my grows turn out fine this way. But I draw the tap water into 5-gallon buckets 24 hours before use, so as to allow the chlorine to evaporate. And my tap water is very high quality.

Grow room:

A 32" x 32" x 60" tent under a Sunblaze 2-foot 8-bulb T5 fixture (for vegging).

When it's time to flower, I'll use a 400-watt Hortilux HPS bulb in a nice air-cooled hood. I use a Lumatek digital ballast.

My SCROG screen is 29" x 29", and is 9" above the tops of the Smart Pots.

All 6 of my seeds germinated just fine using the "soaking in water" and then "paper towel" method. I raised them in 18-ounce Dixie cups, and transplanted them into 5-gallon Smart Pots.

I chose the best 3 of 6 seedlings for the SCROG. Maybe I should have went with just 2 plants, but using 3 plants means I can switch to flower sooner.

This pic was taken this evening. I have 3 plants under a 27" x 27" screen. The screen is almost covered, but the plants aren't mature enough yet for flowering.

I'm thinking about removing one of the plants before it gets too entangled. If I don't, I think I'll be for a mess.

Seed rookie...so do you need fem to show before flip? They are going to be flowers right? Or it won't flower until a certain growth?

When growing from seed, I always wait until some sign of sexual maturity (pre-flower signs) before flipping to 12/12. I guess they could be forced into flower sooner, but I don't know at what cost, if any.

Of course, clones can be flowered earlier because technically, they are as old as their mother.

Weekly Update

I had to remove one of the 3 plants. 3 plants were filling the screen too quickly, and would have resulted in a chaotic flowering cycle, with the plants crowding themselves too much. 2 plants suit this situation much better.
