Are You Scared of Ebola?

I was just wondering how many of you are scared of Ebola. I'm assuming you live in a developed country with good medical care.

I live in the USA, and although I'm not scared yet, I honestly thought we'd never see a case here. But now we have 2, with more surely coming.

So I'm kinda getting pre-nervous.

How about you?

I went to see my Dr. today (messed up knee, diabetes, blah, blah, blah) anyway..........She told me she worked with the bird flu epidemic....and Ebola scares the out of her. She advised me if it's found in the Twin Cities Metro to get the %$#* out of town. If it's found in Chicago I'm heading for the cabin.

Scared isn't maybe the right word, aware that nobody has a flipping clue and it's gonna spread everywhere before big Pharma makes trillions on a vaccine...seems like a plan almost...man I need to puff a joint.

Its weird because Ebola has been around since late 70's if I am not mistaken. If it took 40 years to get our 1st case, i think were doing good. Look how quick AIDS got out of control.

OK, for those who can joke in the light of possible disaster, here's a dumb joke I heard the other day.

Q: "Why is this outbreak of Ebola spreading so much faster than earlier outbreaks?"

A: "The earlier outbreaks were merely 'Bola'. This outbreak is the much more dangerous 'e-Bola'. And 'e-Bola' spreads electronically, over the internet. Like e-mail."

The fact that so many lazy mistakes have been made with people with it, or had been around it will be the reason. That and freakin ISIS threats got my active brain way too active lately

I feel ya brother

forget suicide-bombing... plague bombing...

become infected, get into the USA, then get "into the (healthcare) system"

intentionally surprising the info and intentionally being "messy" with infectious (bodily) fluids etc

1 or 2 people in 3-5 different major cities across the country...

and I'm not even a "conspiracy theorist"

Zitat
DALLAS - Officials say a second health care worker who's tested positive for Ebola was in isolation at a Dallas hospital within 90 minutes of the worker finding she had an elevated temperature.

The patient also recently visited her family in Akron, according to Ohio Health officials.

The woman from Dallas visited the state from October 8-13. She flew from Cleveland. There were 132 passengers on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 from Cleveland to Dallas-Fort Worth on Monday.

Akron is a 30 minute drive away...

Ebola just went from the other side of the world to many states away to my F-ing back yard a little too fast for my liking!

I wish Obama would suspend flights from the African countries to the USA. Until things are under control over there in regards to the spread of Ebola.

the only thing that i worry about is the government saying that they have it under control. yeah right.. it would be much better delt with without the governments hand in it.

Why the hell does Obama refuse to suspend flights to America from West Africa?

Hell, not too long ago he suspended flights to/from Israel to make a political point against Israel...

Or maybe........., he's smart enough to know there are no direct flights from W.Africa to the United States. It would be impossible to enact flight restrictions that would provide any degree of security.

I think they will be restricting flights very soon. That is how it sounds anyway.

I guess the people who've had Ebola and recovered could probably sell their blood for lots of money. On the black market, if no where else.

"Smart" is an adjective I've never personally been able to associate with our current president.

Several other adjectives do come to mind, but printing them here would put Ozzie in the bad position of having to decide whether or not to ban me, so I'll refrain...out of respect for Ozzie...
