Interrupting Sleeping Plants During 18/6 Vegging

Every experienced MJ grower understands light cycles. And there is great emphasis on not interrupting flowering plants during their 12-hour sleep period. All well and good.

But what about interrupting their "sleep period" during 18/6 vegging? Does interrupting their 6-hour sleep period in vegging have bad side effects? I've actually never heard an opinion on this.

Just wondering what you think...

My guess is that it has no adverse side effects.

Not sure..My plants veg under 24/0....and if for some reason it gets disrupted..no biggy. It is more vital for the light cycle to be on in 12/12...and even then you can disrupt it a couple times...I know I have

24/7 here too. I've been told veg'ing plants do not need a night cycle.

In some grows, I veg 24/7. But in the hot summertime, I like to veg at 18/6 to give my AC unit a little break...

Do you notice any stretch by adding the shorts "rests" in their days?

I would think shortening the light schedule by 25% would reduce your growth rate by a corresponding 25%, possibly more because the plants have to wind down at lights off, and then ramp up at lights on.

I don't know this as fact, but it seems logical to me.

No, but there may have been a small amount that I just didn't notice.

Yeah I have seen more stretch when ran 18/6 compared to 24/0...I also think some strains show sooner (4-5wk) as too 6-8wk when on 24/7..JMO
