I have a spare bedroom and I want to make it my grow room, I want 3 grow tents. I already bought the panda film. I need a seedling, veg, and flower box. I already know how big the flower box needs to be. I would like ur input on a seedling box,and veg box. How big should each be? I have my own thought but was wondering what you guys and girls thought. Now to lighting. To start off with I will be using a 6 bulb t5,2 foot light for seedling box,4 foot 4 bulb t5 for veg, the reason for this is so I can keep my grows going.not be limited to one box

If you're building these tents I would leave at least 6" around the T5 fixtures. I use a 8bulb 2'x4' fixture in a 2x4 tent and it gets hot...because there's not enough room around the fixture for the heat to rise and be drawn out.............so I just leave the door open.

Hey bbr751
There's a few ways U can do it. Question I have is how many u wanting to flo
I have a small mom/seedling/clone area was a 400w hps swapped out for a 240w led panel N a bigger veg area 4' 8 bank t5's.
Then a room "my dark/bloom room" with a 4x4 and 1k n a 3x3 with 600w in it.
If u can't do like said above. I'd split the room have a light tight side with a room or tent. For flo.
N a working side for veg n seedlings moms all that.

A uhaul wardrobe box would do YA for seedlings/cloning. Easy to hide n looks non conspicuous 2x4 6 bank will do for now. Add 4' light strips to the 6 bank to make n 8 gives YA room around
Now back to flow. What we talking plant count ??

I don't need to hide it. The people I have over know I grow.only trusted people are allowed inside. And I will be seeding 8 at a time

Looking to flow in a 4x4?? Smaller.
What's your wants on the bloom room size. As well as what YA got fer a light
Without having to hide it makes life easier.
Do you keep moms ?? Or run a strain for awhile taking clones n ditch pop new continue on

flower will be in a 4x4 have a 400 watt setup.t5 for seedling and t5 for veg. will be growing all from seed.at the moment. i can flower 365 days a year in the 4x4. seedling tent will have 6 at a time, they will then be moved in veg tent till sex is shown, then into flower box.so i guess a seedling tent will need to be 2x2x2?that will be a six bulb 2 foot t5,, veg box will be 2x2x4? 4 foot 4 bulb t5,, the flower will be 4x4x7.?. wondering if the seedling and veg tents will be big enough.

i have a ton of hashberry seeds i need to do something with. thats why i am starting from seed, and not clone just yet.

2x2x2 would do seedlings for sure.
Veg tent Id def make bigger 2x4 or 3x3.
Flo tent great size but 400 won't cut the mustard. Need a 600w or more

@bbr751
There we go looking better. Now. I'd take the seedling area right out. Allow some height for heat n tips to led.
And go with a 3' height n same floor space. Will give you some extra room to expand a lil too, have moms n clones in that cab as well as pop a few beans ;-)

whenever i get a material list and all the stuff to build it. i will move it to DIY thread, its not going to cost a fortune to build the tent.and will have plenty of room for a grower growing for personal use.

Sorry @bbr751
What I ment was to take the seedling room out. N have that area for vegging. Will want the extra height.
Then build a small cab or area 3'-4' height wise n "proper sqft for that light"

Does that make more sense. Long ty day. Lmfao. So pretty fried.

I would also remove seedling area all together and add a tray to the veg area on the side to get the kids started...maybe even above the led using it as a heat mat....?

Wish I had pics still.
My first mom/seedling/clone cab is zackly how u discribed.
I had 1-2 cfl up top with a 2' area height wise.
Then had the moms n what nots down below.
The top shelf I cut 1" back to allow the heat to rise n exit through top exhaust fan.

If your flower room is gonna' be 4x4 you'll need more than a 400 watt HPS in there.

What are your plans for air exchange and odor control?

i also have a 600 watt HPS i can use. im not worried about light. now, air exchange. air will be pulled in from the bottom, and pulled out the top passing threw a carbon filter and vented out a floor vent and pushed under the house.its winter. the extra heat cant hurt right?

Your golden fer light.
you venting each cab separately or as 1. ???
No extra heat never hurts. Watch for mold. But your rh coming out shouldnt be too high. So it shoujdnt be n issue but keep it in mind.
Sounds like your getting closer to the build.

Sweet found em.
Here's my first mom/small veg/seedling/cloning cab I made in the days of MP.
U will see an exhaust up top. N a port at the bottom. Both had muffin fans.
The top shelf was cut back about 1" to allow circulation of heat n fresh air. Inthe second pick I can see the light coming up from the bottom section.

I used 1-4 cfl up top and a small hps on bottom.
That is foilon or how ever she be spelt. It's more like a tent/tarp material
So it can be washed like panda film.
It worked great.

To save space and a little $$ in my veg cabinet, I setup 1 CFL at the top of my cabinet above my T5 and set my propagation tray and dome on top of the T5 and use that area for seedlings/clones. setting the tray and dome on the t5 is like having a heat pad for your babies. so you dont have to buy one. plus it was all dead space now being used instead of taking up my t5 light area I needed for veg.

So today I built a frame for my new tent setup. I used 10 five feet long by 3/4" outer diameter pvc pipe . The tent will be 5 feet high,5 feet wide and 2 1/2 feet deep. I cut 2 pieces of pipe in half to give me the 2 1/2" depth. No waste in pipe . And I used 8. 3 way 90° elbows. total cost for the frame. $34.76 and the panda film was $29.00. That's a total cost of $63.76. By the time I get panda film on I will have less than $80 In this tent. Still waiting on the film

Nice. I don't recommend using your fixture as a shelf. You may have been lucky up to date but water/moisture n power really don't mix. N to be that's a fire hazard.

I have used the same setup in the past and although dangerous if you water over a light...I also didn't need to add the bulb over the dome tray the reflection was enough to root a clone...then they went below anyways....
Good luck

i always water on the ground and put the tray back up there. I never thought about the reflection being enough light. So you think the extra light is a waste?
