Has anybody tried this new Solventless Hash Oil tech yet ?

The "at home" method involves nothing more than an electrical hair straightener, parchment paper and buds or hash/keif

Using the hot hair straightener pressure is applied, for just a couple of seconds, to the bud/hash inside the parchment paper.

Afterwards the bud is tossed or saved for cooking etc and the oil is collected from the parchment paper.

Peeps are also now starting to pre-wrap the buds/hash in a 25μ pressing screen prior to pressing to help reduce contamination of the oil with plant matter.

T-shirt presses are also being used to the same end.

I've not yet tried this tech myself, no hair straighteners yet butt I sure do plan on giving this a go very soon to dab

Doesn't sound like it would work very well. Never heard heat separate trichomes and oils from plant matter. Would love a non butane way to make oil. Looking at co2 and it's just way too pricey for personal use. Post up your results when you give it a try. I'm interested to see

I first became aware of Rosin during the mid 2000s

The "old" tech used hash and keif which was rubbed over hot glass or stainless steel and the concentrated residue collected much the same way as BHO QWISO etc

The "new" tech uses the heated press method and is presently gaining momentum due to its relative simplicity, high return % and quality

Just watched the videos and pretty interesting. I'll have to wait to swipe the mrs hair straightener when she's not around

Seems like a cool deal for a quick little bit. But seems like it would take forever to get a quantity of it, little at a time. Maybe they make fatter straighteners?...

@Ston-loc peeps are using tshirt presses for large amounts, check out the icmag thread for more details

If you have a pressing screen I'd advice using it, I ran a little bubble last night that dabbed great on my mod butt it was messier than I expected.

I need to spend a little time experimenting with temps etc and or even knocking up a pressing jig for the hair straighteners like the one I saw on icmag
