How long on average does a 1k HPS last? Mine is kicking over a year and I'm thinking maybe I should just swap it out. Hate to waste it though.

unfortunately i have never found an affordable meter to measure a lights lumens so all we can do is check the manufactures recommendations---i use hortilux 1k hps---they s/b replaced every 12 mo---it's common to use a sharpie to write the date on the metal part that screws into the fixture so u aint guessing when it's time to replace it

well I have noticed that the been there the last couple runs. I have 4 three gal pots and only producing maybe 5 oz at the most.

I can always keep it as a spare.

If i buy the cheap bulb i use it for 3 mo. If i buy the 3xpensive one i use it for six mo...

What about Veg lights like T5's? Do you replace them once a year?

Ya, I bought a pack of 4 just incase one burns out. Nice to know they don't dim out.
