and on to the next one...

pic 1 - 3 rooted clones taken from the original SL female.

pic 2 - on the left, 6 hawaii maui waui seeds that have germ'd, still waiting to see if the 4 remaining seeds will germ, but its unlikely. on the right, 4 clones just taken from the larger of the 3 plants in the first pic.

stay up SB

I am going to argue a little with your assessment of trichs, shortbus.

Clear trichs=Up energetic high
Cloudy trichs=The inbetween up and couchlock
Amber trichs=Couchlock

There are some strains that I have seen that don't actually get amber trichs--they kind of go from cloudy to black (degraded) and need to be harvested when they are cloudy. Sativas are generally taken when the trichs are a mixture of cloudy and clear. Indicas are usually taken when the trichs are a mixture of cloudy and amber. I always recommend going by the breeder's recommendations when you initially start growing. Every strain will have its own best time to harvest. Varying harvest times will only do so much to change the personality of the high--for instance you cannot make an indica strain like a sativa(an up energetic high) by harvesting while the trichs are clear+ or vice versa. And taking a 9-10 week strain (even a partial harvest) at 7-1/2 weeks IMO is a mistake. Let your plants mature before tyou harvest. If you want a 7 week strain, grow a 78 week strain. Also I would grow the kind of strain that you prefer rather than trying to vary the high by your harvest times (which really doesn't work well).

only 3 of the 10 maui waui seeds popped. lets hope for girls. got 3 SL clones vegging. the small one was taken at the same time as the second largest, but was a very small clone only had 2 very small growth sites. she's taking a while to get going, but i know she'll get there. they'll get a tea soon as i get more fresh EWC in the mail. 3 of the 4 new SL clones i took from the big girl currently in veg, unfortunately didn't make it. i think i bumped the switch for the heating pad, when i was checking on them. came back the next day and 3 f them turned brown and wilted. no big deal, plenty more where that came from.

having a little trouble cloning this one, but i think it's more my lack of attention then the plant itself. i'm 3/8 so far. with that said these 2 pretty girls are getting flipped next week.

update on the first SL harvest. she weighed in dry at 95grams. considering i could have fit 3 of her in the cab, i'd say it was a pretty successful first run. with a total of 5 1/2 weeks veg from seed, and 9 weeks flower.

as far as a smoke report goes, i'll be looking to MC to help me out. basically i'm looking for a handful of people with a mature palate to give me feedback on the SL.

flipped the switch on 2 southern lights clones tonight. the 3 maui waui that popped are looking healthy. a bit stretchy, but healthy non the less. i dunno whats up with this one SL clone. she was very small when i took her, but she's taking a seriously long time to get going. i suspect i need to re-inoculate her, good time to start a tea for all of them just to be sure. i just cut 6 new SL clones. crossing my fingers on these ones.
