I culled two males two nights ago. There might be a couple more boys. The stem rubs show awesome smells. Very strong, not really diesel, but a chemical thing. I think I will save an outdoor spot for the best girl. Pics soon

420benny, I here alot about stem rub. What is the purpose and what are you looking for or smelling for?

The purpose for me is to get a glimpse of what the future is with that particular plant. Let's say I am looking for a worthy boy. If I have 4 males and stem rubs show one with the smell I am looking for or a stronger smell than the others, he gets a second look. It isn't the complete answer whether to keep it or not, but it's a good start. Same goes for girls

Yes and no. If you are growing something new out for the first time, you don't have to wait till it is 5 weeks into flower to see what it might smell like. A month old plant from seed will give you a clue as to what to expect. For breeding, it helps you cull weaker smelling plants to get plant counts down and concentrate on the better smelling phenos.

2 of these are still going strong. Moved them on to 450ppm's of Jungle Juice via drip to drain and recycle.

These beans do seem to germ pretty well. Happy to hear you got 3 for 3. Now if two are girls, you are golden

Howdy gang. Found something interesting last night while sexing the GSC x Larry seedlings. I found a male with pre-flowers coming out of the stalk between nodes. Some were strange, some looked normal. Had to cull him, just too weird to keep. He did have a strong, chemmy smell to him. Out of six GSC x Larry starts, I may have two or three females. Out of six Larry f2s, I only got 2 females and potted them into 3 gal. pots last night.

Just to update, I still have one of this going, and I'm hoping on it being a Fem. I believe it shall be..

Also, I suggested a name for this strain to Orange and it's officially been accepted. :) This strain is called: Boy Scout Cookies

OS, do you have any pics of your GSC mother? I ask because one of my 3 girls has a very different leaf pattern from anything I have ever grown. I will take a pic tonight after lights come on. Kind of a viney structure with 3 to five fingered leaves growing together, in the same direction. Kind of like afghan, but thinner fingers.

hey benny---sorry for the delay---i no longer have the pics of the original gsc mom---but will tell u she did look like that---i picked her up from a dispensary---2" pot, 2' clone---very lanky/stretchy---there should be a pic of her over at marP---genetics are og kush, durban poison, and granddadddy purp----nice heAD/BODY BALANCED BUZZ---sativa dominant gotta pay close attention in doors cause she will take off on you

Thanks, OS. Where do you think that leaf pattern comes from? I am guessing the Durban.I might have to run this one OD topped and topped again to see how she does. Good genetics. Hope she doesn't become a 12 footer that finishes very late.
