we are correctly having a major ice storm. and it has got me a bit worried. they are saying to prepare for no power for up to 24 hours. and i know my DWC plant will not survive that. i have no way to keep the air pumps running. what if i took the entire net pot with the plant and planted it organic medium. and left it there for the rest of the grow. will it survive? i really don't want to do that, but i do not want to loss my baby. just trying to figure things out in advance. any information is much appreciated

the pros will follow up but i think you are ok maybe just raising net pot out of solution...maybe 24 is ok on the long end?
maybe easier to drain resi before power goes out and hand water once or twice??

I would leave it. It can be tough to go from DWC to soil. You haven't lost power yet and you may not. And even if you do, it may be brief. I have frequent power outages and do not even kick my generator on unless I know the outage it going to be 12-24 hours or more. DWC can survive for 12-24 hours without air....they just don't like it.

I think the water would be plenty enough oxygenated to last up to 48 hours easy. But, I'm not as knowledgeable as others.

Maybe lift them up out of the buckets, and suspend while you take a whisk and very rapidly whisk the solution for about 2-5 minutes straight. That will pump air into the solution.
