Got this to root clones. I think it will work well. Very tall dome. Thanks 4U

It doesnt show in the picture, but there is an adjustable vent in the top to control humidity.

they work very well my friend...it also has holes on the sides for air circulation ...I have a few of these...thanks for reminding me I have to go take some more clones....this time its..GSC(thin mint)....only thing I like to add is you can also use small Rockwool cubes in these as well...just not big ones....but you can buy the pellets in bulk cheap too....I know Loews and Home Depot are selling them now for garners ....I cant wait to see the show....

Temps in the tent are hovering between 75-79 now. Humidity is running at 35% Its a little low but thats an empty tent. Once i have plants growing the humidity is sure to rise some.

I dont have a mat. Afraid ide fry them by mistake. I could put a space heater/portable radiator in the room close to the cloner if i need help getting the temps up.

Heres a question i have; Whats the proper humidity i want in my tent? And am i correct thinking the plants/damp medium would bring the humidity up?

Medium in the red solos are jiffy mix (66%) Compost (33%) The compost i get is sourced locally and really good stuff. Blue Ridge Super Compost. $80 a cubic yard, or $8 a cf

A few added bene's : Myco Fungi and Bio-tone Starter Plus 1/2 cup for 2 cf.

This little bit of added fungi and bacteria really got some good stuff going. I watered this mix and left it in a rubbermaid tub for a few days covered at room temp. When i opened the lid all sorts of mycelium were working there magic. White Strands i could visibly see. Good stuff!

This season Larry OG, Pineapple Express, and a high CBD strain Cannatonic.. We'll see.

I have a question on breeding.

Lets say I want to make a cross. I have two strains i have in mind. I'll call these plants Alpha & Bravo for clarity.

Alpha I like. Ive grown this strain and I like its growing traits, production and disease resistance for me. I want to keep this strain around but also want to use it as a base to breed from because of the traits it has.

Bravo is new to me. Ive tryed it and liked the smoke. Thought it would pair well with Alpha as it has similar traits in smell, taste and high. The high im looking for in both are similar.

The reason i want to cross the two is -flowering time and -resin production. Thats what my target is in breeding the two,Bring out even more Flavor, Resin Production and a shorter flowering time.

Now, with saying that i understand thats a lot of work, and a lot of F1's F2's......F6 F7.

So,,,,,,,The Question:

I know i want to cross these two.

I have 2 plants of Alpha, 1x Male & 1x Female

I also have 2 plants of Bravo, 1 Male & 1x Female

Which Male/Female combo do i use to breed? Keeping in mind i know i like Alpha and want to stick close to those traits.

Thanks!
Drft

The f1's of this cross i would then interbreed to eventually be f4's fallowing the traits i like, then backross them with The Original Alpha cut? .

os got an opinion magine that---speaking from a pollen chucking mentality i would say 1st decide which mom in the alpha line u plan on being the keeper and cut some clones----2nd find the more appealing of the 2 omegas and do the same---take cuts and put the dad aside---label the moms and the cuts---they say pick one trait to chase at a time---so follow the resin 1st---wish i had access to ur entire post to follow ur question with my answer but i cant see it anymore and am just blaa blaaa blabbing away without it

use the alpha (your fav) ??? as the mom host plant with the most dominant features u like to carry forward---i do believe the prominent features carried thru are stronger from the mom than the dad---not always---but u be a gambling man that is the way to go---if not---remember u took cuts already and are ready to start from scratch with the dad and a little luck if need be

i'd be more than happy to hear another's opinion as i still use the dumb pots---lol

Orange. This entails taking cuts from all four? Then trying different combinations of the cross? First try would be Alpha as the breeding FEMALE and Bravo being the MALE?

Morning Drft....Its a Processes IMO.....Choosing the Male is tougher than a female IMO....Because Normally you have just a couple to choose from....A good breeding/chucking habit would entitle growing as many plants for a better selection....and yes clone everything because you wont know what they are like until after Harvest and smoke.....I'm getting ready to Run a Strain to continue the line.....Worked the purple Frosting Last summer and Did not find the Male Keeper......Oh ...I had Males...But not what I was looking for....Best of luck on this Bro....
