gee I wonder which one got roots?

good thing this new light has the ability to only turn on 1/2
I think (just under) 200w (draw) should be plenty for VEG and "400w" for flower... MUAHAhahaaa...

sorry, here's what I should have posted...

------------------

they are probably around 385w draw fixtures

they look very similar to my HydroGrow Sol series lights

Ive been eyeing a Sol4 (400w, about $800 ) to cleanup the Sol2 (200w) and Sol1 (100w) jerry-rigged setup I have now.

These seem to be a "twin" of the Sol lights. IDK who came first or whatever but I'm betting they are VERY similar designs.

I want to modify the cooling.

The "COB" design focus the heat VS spread it out over the entire (panel) unit.
My PC building hobby ("extreme" CPU cooling) has some tricks I think I can bring over to this hobby.
The 4-bay fixture should give me enough room to work in.

also, if a planed home renovation comes to fruition, I may just end up with enough space to use (both) of the(se) new fixtures
they HAD 2 in stock @ that price

-------------------

More differences than I expected...

Seems to have a very acceptable thermal contact

1st close-up is Apollo
2nd close-up is Hydrogrow

Its the little things like: 3 of the 4 screws holding the LED assembly to the heat sink are the same size and then the 4th is shorter, that make me shake my head.

This will be my first time taking a clone to flower.

<--- 11/29/14

<--- 12/7/14 (and all below)

The new light seems to overpower my flash WAY more than the Sol's did... IDK, just an observation.

EXPLOSIVE stem development!

I'm planning on rooting a cut from this plant to replace the original "mother" I.C.
(pop a Chucky's Bride and push it into flower after rooting a C'sB clone/mother... yes MORE space I NEED MORE!!!)

EDIT
that's the cycle! I understand now.
Take a cut from mom. root "daughter"... at flower, take a cut from daughter that will become the new mom.
I will flower every other "generation"

EDIT
started a new thread in the Journals section HERE

@Melvan Seems it only took me 7 months to actually understand your advice (post #7 above)... thank you (again... lol)

whelp, she made just over 7 months...... not real impressive

-but-

I totally succeeded @ stalling this strain from flowering (the whole point to this thread)

and

I learned, A LOT!!!

even from her demise I've learned about the BORG (spider mites)
and root development from the disposal

I was getting very lazy with the upkeep/pruning, those lower stems should have been stripped cleaner than a....
[there just isn't anything with "clean" and "stripper" coming to mind]

anyway...

thanks

I'm taking a nice fresh cutting from IC2 (@ flip) to root-up another, hopefully healthier, mom to carry on the strain.
