Flood Table

So I bought 2 2x4 flood tables. I had to do some cutting to make them both fit in my 4x4 tent. I haven't yet had to water yet, but I think there will be a problem. In the bottom of the flood table there are raised squares and I am thinking that it will take at least 2-3 gallons of water just to raise the water level up to the smart pots. Any ideas comments?

Why is that a problem?

The raised squares are to promote drainage.

What did you have to cut to fit them in your tent? Do you have pics?

Flood and drain set up?
Not sure you want to be running the pump that close to dry .
If you flood 20 gallons from a 25-30 gallon resi, and extra 2-3 won't hurt...if you flood 10 from a 15 gal resi you might run dry needing the extra 2-3 gallons
Just my two cents

Well, i wanted to be able to just pour a 5 gallon bucket of water in the table and let the plants wick it up, rather then pouring through the plants and letting it drain out. I am wondering if it will just let a few gallons just sit where they can't wick. You know what I'm saying? Then I would have to make 7ish gallons instead of 5.

No, I'm not pumping anything. The only reason I bought the table instead of drain pots is because I thought it would be easier to water. Also, not having to have pour holes all in my medium.

I usually only water about 1 1/2 gallons of water / feed per plant. So I just figured I could fill a 5 gallon bucket up, instead of using 1 gallon jugs. Just make life easier on me :)

I have a 3 plant perpetual grow, every 30 days rotate. Just FYI.

Im not a Hydro grower But do bubble water in 5 gallon buckets and use a pitcher to water the plants....I also made a pump drip system with 1 gallon per hour dripers and use a timer was great for a tight scrog..

take care and be safe

OK, I see what you're doing now. You're just using the flood table as a large plant tray.

I don't see any way to get around the extra water. I wouldn't let the water just sit in the bottom of that table...but that's just me.

well, I just got flooded. The damn table had a hole in it. That f'n sucks! I am going to try to torch it and melt the crack to seal it. If it doesn't work, waste of $50 bucks.

its funny you said that. My wife said use that can of flex seal. I had bought a can to stop a rubber boot on the roof from leaking around the vent pipe. hasn't leaked since.
