It's nice to see you feeling well and back into your grow. I'm thinking I might rename this thread "Mel's Grow for Phil" as you seem to be the only one interested in it around here, lol.

A little update from the day 10 of bloom.

A couple of my long time favorite Immortal Flowers Jaffa Cake. I have 3 girls, 1 from the first sowing and 2 from the second.

Pheno A is a nice little tree from the first sowing



Pheno C is from the 2nd sowing



Also from Immortal Flowers, Vortex x Deep Bubba Kush. I have 2 of these from the second sowing. This one has shown clearly as a girl, still waiting for the other to sex.



And my 1989 NL5 mother. She's a bit over fed, going to back her off from the trough for a week or so. I have a nice closet to use here as a pollination chamber. She'll be heading in there with 89 NL5 male for some F4 beans, and a few fun crosses some of my favorite girls.

Hi Lefthand. Here's a cut and paste from another site that tells her lineage.

A few years back a good friend gifted me 5 seeds of 89 NL5 that he, who had a mother, and a friend, who had stored pollen, worked together to make a few stash beans. He made a few from that making. The agreement was that the first seed making I did would be gifted freely to the community, and an entire plant in a 1 gal bucket was shared, minus the numbers I needed for future makings.

This is not a quick hybrid vegger. You need at least 60 days of veg to get proper yields, maybe a bit longer from seed, but she makes up for it with a quick finish that makes it all come out in the wash. Mother in this seed making finishes in 52 days. I've taken some as early as day 48 for 1/2 cloudy 1/2 clear.

Grows as a tight little bush that doesn't over grow it's bucket, additional growth/stretch in flower is minimal, works perfect for the stealth. Strong stems and branches usually need staking only near the end when buds are full on.

You'll be able to do a major backing off of the feed too. She'll store it up in the leaf quick and get dark very easily. Best to start light and add higher ppms if she asks for it.

All the mothers I've used have had the same funky fruity rotted garbage stink that I always describe as being in an orchard where fruit has fallen and is rotting, but there's also a dead animal laying around. Nice day time smoke, pretty good sink at 60 days, but much more beyond that in clone runs and you'll get over-ripening.

I have 2 phenos of Double Down Diesel F3

Pheno #2 is shorter and rounder but more sativa



Pheno #3 is tall and strong and more indica leaning



And the tester of Purple Urkle x Blueberry. She put on a bit of stretch, but has recovered nicely from her unhappiness brought on by the high rh.

Day 16. All of the indica leaners are doing some saw toothing from the rh battle. With the dehumidifier running 24/7 I still keep hovering around 60%. The hybrids don't care, but my indica gals are having reaction. It hasn't gotten any worse in the last week or so, but no better either, so maybe I've just hit a happy medium where they're showing some trouble, but not locking out.

I have 2 gals from Immortal Flowers Vortex x Deep Bubba Kush. #E pheno (on the right in the side by side) is a Vortex leaner. Looser, slower forming buds with more spacing between the nodes.

The D pheno I'm feeling real good about. A nice indica leaner with short pistils that usually point to dense bud at finish. Stacking and filling in quick for day 20. Best thing is that, at least right now, she's all orange from the Vortex mom. I would be very excited to finally find my orange pheno that actually weighs. In the past when hunting the orange in Supernatural's gear I've either got weight, but no orange, or unbelievable orange with no weight, lol.

hey melvan, looking great! after feb 10th i will start popping more seeds - got some bad news, hep c and cancer are both back. I've started harvoni for 24 weeks for the hep c and go see the cancer/hep c docs feb 10th - the marker numbers are at 1200 (when they did my last surgery to remove the tumor it was 1600) and the liver has started to ache now, so I'm not sure whats going to happen next. I've done really well so far on the harvoni - i had a migraine for 48 hours the first two days and a little nausea but i've got past that now. The Frosted buckeye clones are revegging now, very nicely, and I am very, very pleased with the smoke, even with a short cure and grown and harvested under adverse conditions she's great and oh man looking forward to this year, now that i know how she grows. You are awesome, melvan, keep up the great work!!

Buckeye Purple mom day 31. Rh is still hovering on the high side, and that will just be the way it is until it's warm enough to justify running the wall a/c in there, so she's holding onto those saw toothed leaves.
