No quality site is complete without a porn thread from Mel! LOL

I think everyone here right now is familiar with my grow, if not please feel free to ask any questions. Veg under T5s. Flower under 1K. I use GroTek line of nutes minus the water soluables with the addition of MG 15/30/15. I run a perpetual grow that I am just now starting to switch over from 1 gals and 3 gal round buckets to 2 1/2 gal square buckets (makes a lot more sense in a rectangular space right?)

Usually harvest 2 plants every 7-10 days. Use only ProMix BX with no additives. Take it straight from bale to bucket (And it's not really ProMix, it's a generic version called Fafard Canadian Grow Mix, get it at the ag store for $28 bucks a bale.)

First up, one of my own workings, Dead North (Cali Connections Deadhead OG x my 89 NL5 male) This is the first gal I've found out of 2 seeds I started. She's at day 18 in a 1 gal bucket. She was scheduled for feed but did not need it.

Vegged 35 days and flipped from T5 to 1K and the stretch is pretty minimal. Running her all natural, untopped, which is something I don't normally do either, but this is a pheno hunt so I need to see how they roll without any manipulation. If I like what I see I'll do a full veg with training on a clone.

We were over a week on the back up well waiting for our good deep spring well to be repaired, all the plants are showing a bit of issue from the way sub par water that came out of the other well. Had some pretty heavy metals going on in it, had to add a settler that was mostly calcium, seeing that in the burned edges of the leaves.

Thanks, even though the Gorilla Grape got hit with mites pretty hard. Most of the damage is old now, but still treating her. (No need to get into a "get rid of your mites discussion, trust me, they ain't going nowhere, lol) But, for 35 days and fighting an infestation, I think her buds look pretty awesome.

Immortal Flowers Jaffa Cake. This is what I'm calling the Orange Zest pheno. All you smell on this gal is pure orange, just like it smells when you zest one for cooking. Strongest orange I've ever smelled on a plant, even my old CaliO. Resin production is off the charts, it's like someone just takes the leaf and dips it in a bowl of sugar. I've run alot of Jaffa Cake seed, probably 6 or 7 girls total, first time I've had that smell on a pheno.

But, of course, that great smell and resin production are paid for with very loose, airy bud. This is the 3rd, and last run of this gal, currently at day 20. 2nd run I was able to bulk her buds a bit with product, but not enough to justify keeping her beyond this last vegged clone. I was going to pop some more seeds and find a dad to make some beans with her because of her positive traits, but the huge negative of weak bud formation made me change my mind.

A few gals from the veg room. I'm in the process of changing over from 1gal and 3 gal rounds to 2.5 gal square pots.

This is the 1998 Sensi Jack Herer. She got some lock out waiting to go from cup to bucket during my water fiasco. Moved her to the 2.5 gal square pot about a week ago and she's greening back up quite nicely.

Bros Grimm C99 Grail pheno. She's ready for a topping and some training, I'll do it at some point this week.

Liquid Kid's Bubba Chunk (Pr98 Bubba Kush x Tom Hill Deep Chunk) I'd say I've had this pheno at least 3 years. She grows awesome, has a great lemonaide smell and flavor, and she yields just awesome. All around, just a great plant.

And one of my own workings, Northern Green. This is a cross of my Buckeye Green x 89 NL 5. This clone will be the 4th and final run of this gal, going to start a few more beans from the cross. She's a nice little pheno, weighs well and ends up with the prettiest pinks in her buds, but she's the first gal I've found in this cross and I want to hunt a new one.

Surf, mites are not the end of a grow by any means. Many will over react and throw away every plant, rip down the grow, etc. Treating rooting clones for mites can be rough, expect some to fail due to the chemicals, but on established plants, if you keep your eyes open and start treating as soon as you see damage you can usually keep them beat down to where they don't affect the plant to much, they just become a nuisance.

Going to admit, over the past month I've been very lazy about the grow, so they were able to get a foothold they don't normally get here. It's my fault the infection turned into infestation. And though they are almost always lurking in my grow spaces, I'm usually able to keep the damage to a minimum and usually to the lower part of the plants with treatments.

Mel, your plants are looking great! I battle mites a lot of the time too (but my plants don't look as good as yours after a major skirmish). I think the thing is to hit them hard and fast as soon as you see the first sign of mites. I also would never throw away plants with mites, but they can and do affect yield and potency in a big way.

Surf, do what you can and don't pussy-foot around with things like pepper spray (which do not work).

I do find that when I'm able to locate the Hot Shot flying pest strips and have them in the flower room I'll go a lot longer without seeing them. One on the floor in my flowering space changed every 30 days keeps them away, but for some reason those things are hard to find and sell out quick around here. Haven't been able to find any in a couple of months.

Buckeye Green day 20. This is a green pheno I found in the Buckeye Purple seeds that has shown herself to be quite nice. I even made a cross with her and my 89 NL 5, two clones of which are also currently in flower. I call her "green" as she doesn't get the deep purples of the Buckeye P, but in the end her buds are a very pretty shade of pink.

@Grower13 This clone was gifted to me a few years back by my old friend HSS from Eugenic Genetics. A promise was made at that time not to make seed with her, so I haven't.

4U I always just laid one on the floor, never hung them. Someone at the site from which I am now banned (lol) talked about using them as preventative years ago and I started doing it. He even showed some kind of breakdown of the ingredients to show it was safe around the plants.

And these aren't sticky fly paper things, they have a plastic cover over top the poison. Maybe you had something more like fly paper? And thanks for mentioning Amazon, I just went and bought some on ebay, lol. The problem is I wouldn't remember I needed them until I have a huge breakout like over this past month, now I'll have a case, lol.
